APPICom : The full-duplex hands-free pocket radio system !

APPICom addresses Audio communication concerns in difficult and harsh environments, in several Industries such as Transport, Energy, Construction, Civil Security and Military. The system is adapted to wearing a helmet, a protection or breathing mask, and a chemical or a nuclear suit! The Kit APPICom 43 allows « hands-free & conference mode » full-duplex voice communication for up to three teammates over four independent, license-free radio channels - four teams can work in the same area and proximity !

Radio Terminal
A terminal has an attachment clip (or neck strap), is completely « discreet » and provided with an external long range antenna. The terminals are customizable (Option “PERSO”) to mark the identity of each user group. In addition, each team member can page another in their network group with a simple ring signal (“BEEP”) to attract the attention of others in the group.

Simplicity
The secure radio network is autonomous and deployed within seconds at the touch of a button ! One single keyed connector allows connection of several audio accessories as well as permitting the recharge of the battery with any USB charger (minimum battery life : 3 ½ hours )

Exclusive Full-duplex technology : neither « Base » nor « Master » terminal required !
Thanks to the SyncAll® function (Patented Bodysens), any single module may leave the effective communication range without altering the communication between the others in the group. The same module may rejoin the group automatically without user configuration : Peace of mind, added security and efficiency for the team!

Privacy
APPICom terminals operate in digital coded mode : each kit is identified by a code that prohibits other terminals joining the conversation.

Secure Groups
For optimal confidentiality (Special Forces, corporations, large groups), a customized dedicated encryption (Option « SECURE ») creates a « secured group », which prohibits any « external » device to listen or participate in the private conversation !

APPICom 43 / Standard Configuration

The kit consists of :
• 3 lightweight (around 80 grams) radio modules with external antennas that can be attached to a clip (for pocket, belt etc.) or around the neck
• 2 Audio accessories : throat microphones
• 1 Audio accessory : headset with PTT
• 1 « connection & recharge » kit (USB cable, USB-hub and USB charger)
• 1 user manual on a USB key
• 1 carrying kit (APPI Case)

APPICom 43 / « Firefighter » Configuration

The kit consists of :
• 2 « APPI » fireproof hood to integrate the APPICom and APPIPhy modules (APPI hood is certified “fireproof” as per CE – EN13911 standard)
• 2 lightweight (around 60 grams) radio modules with internal antennas to be integrated in the APPI fire hood
• 1 lightweight (around 80 grams) radio modules with external antennas that can be placed on a clip (pocket, etc.) or around the neck
• 2 Audio accessories : skull microphones to be integrated in the APPI fire hood
• 1 Audio accessory : headset with Push To Talk (PPT)
• 1 « connection & recharge » kit (USB cable, USB-hub and USB charger)
• 1 user manual on a USB key
• 1 carrying kit (APPI Case)

Note : Other audio accessories are available at request and can be interchanged between modules : throat microphones, audio headsets without PTT, noise protection audio helmet etc.

APPICom is CE certified (notified body) and complies with European regulations :
• ETSI EN 300 220-1 V2.3.1, Class I (four Audio channels, no restriction)
• ETSI EN 301 489-1 & ETSI EN 301 489-3
• EN 60 950-1, Ed. 2 :2006, -+A1:2010, +A11 :2009

Communication: digital coded radio (license-free ISM band : 863 to 870 MHz)
• The range (line-of-site) exceeds 1000m with the supplied external antennas.
• All four radio audio channels are fully certified, allowing four APPICom Kits to be used in the same local area and in proximity.
• Each terminal can only communicate with the terminals of the kit to which it belongs to. There is no possibility of interfering conversations mixing-in from other nearby kits.

The APPICom kit can be used simultaneously with the complementary product APPIPhy, for mission and vital signs monitoring, to provide a complete personal protection security system.
